I was so nervous standing side-stage, sweating, white-knuckle-cross-armed, tapping my feet to a 190BPM beat that wasn’t playing. All I could think was “Don’t. Trip. Up.”
Then Max intro’d her, everyone cheered, I started breathing again and couldn’t stop smiling. What a treat to watch Alisa from the audience! I was so proud.
It’s been a real pleasure to see our pals Wolf Gang again too. If you’re thinking about going to see them on their first US headline tour - you think too much. Here are the dates:
Sorry that we have been pretty quiet around these parts. I wanted to write you all a note and tell you that we are still alive and have been tucked away in our house working hard. Songs are beginning to pile up and there are more to be written, plus there are a few exciting things we hope to share with you soon.
Here’s my view of Thom. This is what he looks like on most days.
Love to you all,
Alisa

We have finally finished touring Passive Me, Aggressive You! And what a humbling journey it has been.
We’ve gained listeners in countries I still can’t quite pronounce. We’ve met some inspiring people along the way: musicians and fans alike. We’ve had “e-yeah, e-yeah, e-yeah” screamed back at us by hundreds of thousands of people. It’s been wild. Thanks to each and every person who came out to see us at shows and festivals over the past two years. We’ve played over 250 shows and visited 24 countries since we first released Young Blood in May 2010. Thanks to each and every person who bought our music. Cheers to all who told their friends about us, who spread the word. I hope you understand that without you; we wouldn’t have been able to do this. You’ve made this real for us. We will never take you, and your support, for granted.
There are many places we are already looking forward to returning to, and more to visit in the future, including countries where we regularly hear from fans but couldn’t reach this time round (looking especially at you Mexico, South Africa, Poland).
We are very much looking forward to getting back into the studio. In fact, as soon as Aaron gets back with the damn car - we are heading in to pull apart all our touring gear! (I have been waiting SO long to do this).
We are planning a couple of last treats from Passive Me Aggressive You, to be unveiled in a couple of months’ time. If you want to stay updated on our news, please join The Naked and Famous mail list or follow us on Facebook, Twitter or Tumblr.
And again, thank you all so much.

Going back a few years, we were out celebrating Jesse’s birthday somewhere in Auckland City. It wasn’t the first time my rubbish car had been broken into so I was too upset when I walked back to find it missing. I sat down wondering “Is this the kind of thing you call 111 for?…”
In a Batman kind of way, JamesDuncan appears, sitting next to me. Grinning, he asked what I was doing and how I was. “My car’s been nicked!” I laughed. Still grinning, he reached into his jacket, pulled out a decent-sized chocolate bar and hands it to me.
Meeting your favorite musicians can be risky, but it’s a faith-restoring experience when you do and they’re switched-on, polite, smiley, affable people. It was an honor to have been able to remix a song for M83.
Our friends, Kids of 88, have released their new single ‘Tucan’ which is off their soon to be released record, ‘Modern Love’. Not only was it a privilege to be asked to feature on their track, it was also nice to be around great friends who are inspiring to me. Happy listening. xx
